Hi everybody
I hope you are all well and recovering from a very cold and snowy December.
| Spring hopefully is just around the corner… |
I think we are all looking forward to a warm spring, I know I am. It certainly is lovely to see the snowdrops peeping through the brown, hard ground. I don't know about you but it always gives me a lift, the buds will soon appear on the trees and shrubs and the grass will soon start growing again, the alpacas will be pleased with that.
The alpacas have coped very well with the snow and extreme temperatures. The young ones were very curious about the white blanket that had covered the ground, you could see them wondering, "where has the green stuff gone?"
After some hesitation they eventually, very cautiously ventured out of the warm field shelter, they watched their mums walk on it and slide now and again! I think they thought well, if they can do it, we can too!
February has now arrived, where did January go?
The days are occupied with looking after the livestock and preparing for the shows we will be attending throughout the summer months, which include Revesby and Partney where you can meet Athena and Bronte' two of our young female alpacas.
We have now opened our shop, Homefield, at the farm in Gt. Carlton, currently we are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am to 3pm, starting from the 8th February.
You can come and meet the alpacas and browse at your leisure at our lovely wool, knitted and woven garments and much more. If you can't make it on these days we can always arrange an evening appointment.
| Felting and Spinning Classes |
Felting and Spinning classes will be running throughout the Winter and Spring at the farm .The class dates are regularily updated on the website. We are hoping to introduce knitting classes. If you are interested in any of the above please send me an e-mail chrissy@homefieldalpacas.co.uk and I will get back to you.
Gift vouchers are available to buy and our holiday cottage, Honeysuckle Cottage, is up and running, so if you fancy a short break or a little bit longer please get in touch.
